We often take ourselves for granted, we might get the time to look after our physical health, but we overlook our mental an emotional well being. If 2020 has taught us anything, is never to take anything for granted, starting with us, our family and loved ones.
We do not need an occasion to celebrate and love ourselves, but if this coming Valentine's day can be a starting point. Before sharing your love and care with those around you, take some time to love and care for yourself first.
Here are few ideas on how you can practice self love:
1- Write down your thoughts, acknowledge the positives and negatives
2-Detox from technology and work. Attend to that book that has been lying around, collecting dust.
3- Learn a new skill; painting, cooking, baking... Take that online course that you have been contemplating.
4- Stop 5 minutes and breathe - shut down all the surrounding noise, meditate
5- Take a walk, even if it's in the parking lot. Getting out of a your home office boosts your mood.
6- Do not skip your workout day, re-schedule your duties around it.
7- Enjoy a cup of coffee guilt-free, cave in to that dessert temptation.
8- Take a long bath, followed by a face mask, while sipping on your favorite drink.
9- Have a mini dance party to kick start your day
10- Treat yourself with something nice, you deserve a gift every once in a while.
